Attention, attention all kite makers! Susan Skinner is holding a Miniature Facet Kite Making Workshop on Saturday, November 10th, 2007 in Santa Clara, CA. For more details click here.
NAF ... Native American Flute i.e. NAF is my latest bit of fun. I've made a few very primative attempts at Native American Flute recordings. Here is the link to where I've put them. Darrin.
I received this registered letter in the mail today (7/15/02) from Tradenable's attorneys. It's the last gasp of a place many enjoyed working at.
When we were younger we flew kites; now we organize kite festivals; when we get older we want to fly kites again.
For many years Darrin was a team flier on Air Art and Tsunami.
After winning the 1994 World Cup of Sport Kiting with Tsunami, he retired from competition.
He then became involved in the American Kitefliers Association and the American Kite (Magazine) Circuit.
Intially as the scorekeeper for both organizations and later as the 2nd VP for the AKA.
In 1995 Darrin and Susan started the Bay Area Sport Kite League to promote sport kiting through grass roots competition events.
In the last few years Susan has taken the lead as President of BASKL and as a Director at Large of the AKA.
Seems like we are going in 5 year cycles with the two of us switching roles.
Racquetball -- now what does that have to do with Kites?
Nothing, other than Darrin likes both and racquetball courts make good indoor kite practice arenas.
Darrin has a standing challenge that he can beat any AKA member at racquetball -- any takers? LOL!
My latest cool find is Broken Saints.
It is an online graphic novel that uses Macromedia’s Flash to tell a creepy and thought-provoking story.
You can get the stories from the original site (previous link) or from my site here.
The authors site is much faster and cooler, so try there first.
Make sure to turn your speakers on and set aside some time when you won't be interrupted.
Each chapter is about 10-20 minutes long and the entire story is told in 24 chapters (of which 19 are currently available).
